Frequently Asked Questions

I haven't received an email from EP Cares yet. When will my benefits begin?

Your benefits effective date will be the first day of the month following 30 days of full-time employment.

For example, if your hire date is June 10th, the effective date of your benefits will be August 1st.

Your deadline to enroll is the 27th of the month before your coverage is effective (so in the previous example, by July 27th) in order to ensure a smooth implementation of your coverage.

What happens if I miss my enrollment email and deadline?

You will have to wait for open enrollment (in November) or have a recent break-in service that’s greater than 30 days. You can also enroll mid-year if you have a Qualifying Life Event (QLE).

I was terminated and then re-hired on a project. Can I make new benefits elections?

If the break in service was less than 30 days, you cannot change your elections.

If the break is more than 30 days but less than 90 days, you can change your elections. But you must re-enroll in benefits after a break in service of more than 30 days.

You can find the full breakdown on page 7 of the EP Cares Benefits Guide.

When will my benefits end?

Your benefits will conclude on the last day of the month of your last day worked.

How do I enroll in COBRA after my benefits end?

I would like to enroll in COBRA, but I need to change my address.

Please contact EP's Employee Contact Center at (855) 339-7350 or myepcares@ep.com

What happens if my employment ends before I have worked for six weeks?

You would not be able to enroll in EP Cares. We encourage you to visit www.healthcare.gov to find an alternative plan.

Can I set up an HSA through Cigna?

You can find more information about the available HSA plans in the EP Cares Benefits Guide (page 23).

You must be enrolled in an HSA compatible health plan (labeled as "HDHP") to be able to open an HSA. Also, the HSA is not administered by EP Cares / Cigna. If you'd like to take advantage of this resource you'd need to do so at the bank or institution of your choice, and be responsible for managing/funding the account.

I've been given a monthly subsidy, dependent on my medical plan election. How would I pay for the remainder of my insurance?

You can sign up for automatic payments, online payments or pay via mail to our billing service - WEX Health. Please find the attached payment guide for further details.

My production began filming in the U.S. and will be completed abroad. Will my benefits be accessible internationally?

You will not be able to access benefits through EP Cares internationally. However, you will be covered in emergencies - this encompasses medical, dental & vision. Routine visits are not covered and will be out of pocket expenses.

How do I access emergency coverage internationally?

Prior to travel, you will need to generate your own business travel certificate and download the ISOS App. Here is the Travel Claim Form to be completed.
